Widget not detected after installation
After installing the snippet, the Huddlekit dashboard checks whether the widget is active on your site. If it shows as not detected:
- Check the script is on the right page — the snippet needs to be present on the page you visit, not just on your homepage. If your app is a single-page application, the script should be in your root HTML template so it loads on every page.
- Check the project URL matches your site — the URL set in your web app project settings must match the domain your site runs on. If they do not match, the widget will not load. Update the project URL in project settings if needed.
- Visit the live URL — the detection check requires you to visit the actual site where the snippet is installed. If you are viewing a different environment (e.g. localhost vs. your live URL), the check will not pass.
Widget not visible on the site
- Private mode may be on — if private mode is enabled in your project settings, the widget is hidden for all visitors. Only signed-in workspace members can see it, and only after visiting your site with
?huddlekitadded to the URL. Check your project settings to confirm whether private mode is enabled. - Script not loading — open your browser's developer console and check for errors related to the Huddlekit script. Make sure the snippet was pasted correctly and the page has loaded it.
Comments not appearing where expected
Comments in web app projects are page-specific — they are linked to the exact URL path where they were created. A comment left on /dashboard will not appear when you are on /settings.
Widget overlaps site content
If the floating widget button is covering part of your site's UI, you can hide it by pressing F on your keyboard.
