Widget not detected after installation
After installing the snippet, the Huddlekit dashboard checks whether the widget is active on your site. If it shows as not detected:
- Check the snippet is on the right page — it needs to be on the page you actually open, not just your homepage. To collect feedback across your whole site, add it somewhere that loads on every page — most site builders have a footer or site-wide code area for this.
- Check the address matches your Widget URL — the widget only loads on the exact address shown as your Widget URL, so make sure you are visiting the same address, including
httpsversushttpand the exact subdomain. - Open the live site — the check only passes when you open the real site where the snippet is installed. A local or staging copy will not count.
- Use Check verification — after opening your site, come back and select the Check verification button on the setup page.
Widget not visible on the site
- Public mode may be off — if Public mode is turned off in your project's Visibility & Access settings, the widget is hidden from regular visitors. Only signed-in workspace members can see it, and only after visiting your site with
?huddlekitadded to the address. Check your settings to confirm whether Public mode is on. - The project may be archived — an archived web app project keeps its widget inactive. Open the project's settings and set Project status back to Active.
- The snippet may be incomplete — make sure you copied the whole snippet and that your change is saved and published on the live page.
Comments not appearing where expected
Comments in web app projects are page-specific — they are linked to the exact URL path where they were created. A comment left on /dashboard will not appear when you are on /settings.
Widget overlaps site content
If the floating button is covering part of your site, press F on your keyboard to hide it (this switches to a fullscreen view). Press F again to bring it back.
