Before you start
Deleting a workspace is permanent. It removes the workspace and everything inside it — projects, web apps, documents, comments and replies, attachments, share links, tags, and the activity history. None of it can be restored, by you or by support.
If you only want to hand the workspace to someone else, transfer ownership instead. If you want to remove yourself but leave the workspace running, leave the workspace.
Only the workspace owner can delete a workspace.
The checklist
Deletion is deliberately gated behind three things you have to clear yourself. You will find them as a checklist in Settings → Danger zone, and the delete button stays inactive until all three are done.
1. Delete all your projects. This covers everything that holds content — website and media projects, documents, web apps, and file attachments. Delete them from the dashboard.
2. Remove all your team members. Everyone except you, including anyone with a pending invitation. Remove them from the Members page. A pending invite counts, because it is a member who has not arrived yet.
3. Cancel your active subscription. Open the billing portal from Billing and cancel there.
Each item is cleared through the flow that already handles its side effects properly — deleting a project cleans up its comments and share links, the billing portal ends the subscription with Stripe, and removing a member releases their seat.
The checklist is visible to every member, so anyone can see why the workspace cannot be deleted yet. Only the owner sees a working delete button.
Why cancel the subscription first
Deleting the workspace removes Huddlekit's record of the subscription, but it does not tell Stripe to stop billing you. Cancelling through the billing portal is what actually ends the charge. That is why it is a requirement rather than something the delete does for you.
Deleting
Once the checklist is clear:
- Open Settings in the workspace sidebar.
- Scroll to Danger zone.
- Type the workspace name exactly as shown to confirm.
- Confirm the deletion.
Good to know
If this is your only workspace, you will be asked to create a new one the next time you sign in. Deleting a workspace does not delete your Huddlekit account — your profile, sign-in, and any other workspaces you belong to are unaffected.
Guests who had share links to projects in the workspace lose access as soon as those projects are deleted.
